Robert Harvey, MD, specializes in aesthetic plastic and reconstructive surgery at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital on Nob Hill in San Francisco. He recently completed a six-year term as Chief of Staff. He was Chief of Surgery for the seven years prior to that.
After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, he earned his MD degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Harvey was a general surgery resident at Spectrum Health Center, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He graduated from the Plastic Surgery Residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center as Chief Resident. He is board certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and earned the Certificate of Advanced Education in Cosmetic Surgery from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Harvey attended the University of Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria for one year. He also studied at the London Hospital, University of London, England. He earned his MBA at the University of San Francisco. He is a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) awarded by the American Association for Physician Leadership.
He has published articles in Orthopedic Clinics of North America, the Journal of the American Medical Association, Frontiers of Radiation Therapy and Oncology, and the Karger Gazette. Good Housekeeping Magazine published a feature article, “A Plastic Surgeon’s Casebook,” featuring his private practice in San Francisco. In addition to invited presentations in the US, Dr. Harvey has lectured in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, the British Virgin Islands, Toronto and Vancouver, Canada, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has appeared in Australia on The Today Show and Good Morning America Australia.
